Few New Faces in Cabinet

THERE were few surprises in the newly-minted Cabinet of Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

Many of the old faces in his previous government were brought back and sworn in at a ceremony at the newly-refurbished President’s House on Wednesday.

President Paula-Mae Weekes signed their instruments of appointment.

The new Cabinet members are as follows:

  • Prime Minister – Dr Keith Rowley (returning)
  • Attorney General- Faris Al-Rawi (returning)
  • Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries – Clarence Rambharat (returning)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries – Avinash Singh (returning)
  • Minister of Education – Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly (new previously Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Education – Lisa Morris-Julian (new)
  • Minister of Energy and Energy Industries – Franklin Khan (returning)

New President of the Senate

  • Minister of Finance – Colm Imbert (returning)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Finance- Brian Manning (new)
  • Minister of Health – Terrence Deyalsingh (returning)
  • Minister of Housing and Urban Development- Pennelope Beckles (new)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development – Adrian Leonce (new previously Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Transport)
  • Minister of Labour – Stephen McLatchie (new)
  • Minister of Local Government and Rural development – Kazim Hosein (returning)

PM to SEA Pupils: Be safe

  • Minister of National Security and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister – Stuart Young (returning)
  • Minister of Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs – Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal (new)
  • Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister – Ayana Webster-Roy (returning)
  • Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister – Symon De Nobrega (new)
  • Minister of Planning and development – Camille Robinson-Regis (returning)
  • Minister of Public Administration and Digital Transformation –Allison West (returning , Digital Transformation added to the ministry)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Public Administration and Digital Transformation –Hassel Bacchus
  • Minister of Public Utilities – Marvin Gonzales (new)

Rowley: No Time to Experiment in Finance

  • Minister of Social Development and Family Services – Donna Cox ( new, previously Minister of Communications)
  • Minister of Sport and Community Development –Shamfa Cudjoe (returning, Community Development added to the ministry)
  • Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts – Randall Mitchell (returning, Culture and the Arts added to the ministry)
  • Minister of Trade and Industry – Paula Gopee-Scoon (returning)
  • Minister of Works and Transport – Rohan Sinanan (returning)
  • Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport – Foster Cummings (new previously Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government)
  • Minister of Youth Development and National Services – Fitzgerald Hinds (new ministry previously Minister of Public Utilities)
  • To be sworn is Dr Amery Browne as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Browne is currently in quarantine Rowley announced.
