A 52-year-old woman was killed during a domestic dispute on Thursday morning.
Police said they were told that Marva Sutherland was at a house at Andrew Trace in Blue Basin, Diego Martin, when the incident occurred.
Initial reports suggested that Sutherland was hit on the head with a stone during the dispute.
She is the third woman to be murdered this week.
On Wednesday, Ellen Tishana Mohammed, 24, from Guayaguayare died following an argument with a man known to her.
On Tuesday, Abeo Cudjoe was stabbed to death along with her son Levi Lewis, 12, in Penal.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is scheduled to host the post-Cabinet press conference at 3 pm today.
National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds also had a press conference earlier this week to deal with the spate of crime in the country.
There have been 201 murders in the country for the year thus far.
