THE weekend curfew from 7pm begins today (Sunday).
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley announced on Saturday that there will be new curfew times on weekends as follows:
- 7 pm on Friday to 5am Saturday;
- 7 pm on Saturday to 5am Sunday; and
- 7pm on Sunday to 5am Monday.
On Saturday evening, Police Commissioner Gary Griffith singed The Emergency Powers (Variation of Curfew Times) (No. 2) Order, 2021.
It comes into effect today.
The curfew for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday remains from 9pm to 5 am the next day.
The curfew is part of the State of Emergency put in place to help stem the spread of Covid-19.
