RECKLESS, disrespectful and demeaning are words used to describe the comments made by CNC3 Morning Brew talk show host Natalee Legore.
Chairwoman of the Women’s Arm of the United National Congress (UNC) Kenya Charles in a statement on Friday said Legore “should stick to responsible journalism and hosting an informed programme.”
The Women’s Arm joined the several UNC members and groups who have already called for an apology from the talk show host.
Charles added that Legore needed to apologise to the entire UNC party and all its supporters.
But, the People’s National Movement (PNM) public relations officer Laura Lezama-Lee Sing said Legore had nothing to apologise for and that the host was just doing her job.
Charles said, “It is disappointing but not surprising that the Women’s Arm of the current ruling party, the PNM’s Women’s League is silent on the myriad of issues facing our women of Trinidad and Tobago but never miss an opportunity to fan the flames of division and discord.
Our women are at risk daily and before they join us in seeking solutions to help our women, the PNM’s Women’s Arm can only find their voice to attack the UNC and Mrs. Persad Bissessar, another strong woman fighting for all of us.”
