THE Opposition needs to stop misleading the public with blatant lies and untruths states Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

Dr Rowley made the statement in Parliament on Wednesday during the Prime Minister’s Question segment in which he was grilled with questions from the Opposition.

The last question was asked by Member of Parliament for Caroni Central Arnold Ram pertaining to the Pfizer vaccines which were allowed to be distributed amongst members of National Security.

Dr Rowley was asked to identify the group who received that vaccine.

He responded, “We have made vaccines available to the National Security from the Government sources and those particular 400 doses and they have been used by the National Security department.

“I am not prepared to identify individuals who have received a particular vaccine. I did say to the country last Saturday that the 400 vaccines were offered to the National Security department and it was for use by the National Security department and it has so been used under the guidance of the Ministry of Health.”

He was further asked by MP for Oropouche East Dr Roodal Moonilal to provide the identification of those individuals given the suspicious arrival of the vaccines to which Dr Rowley said there was nothing suspicious about it and if the Opposition insisted that revelation be made about the recipients, he will inquire from the Ministry of Health if they reveal such as he did not have that information.

Ram then specifically asked Dr Rowley if he himself was one of those recipients to which Dr Rowley retorted, “I wish that the members of the Opposition would stop attempting to mislead the public with blatant lies and untruths.”

Dr Rowley said he was open with the country about his contraction of the Covid-19 virus.

“To come here today and ask me if I took a vaccine from the 400, you are just a mischief maker,” he told Ram.

MP for Naparima, Rodney Charles asked Dr Rowley to state yes or no.

Dr Rowley replied, “I will not dignify the Member for Naparima with an answer.”

  1. Why is this government not allowing private medical institutions and medical doctors to bring in the Pfizer vaccine for their patients who can afford it? Why are they using the Pfizer vaccine which they smuggled in for a selected few? Come on Keith Rowley open your mouth now.
