The Ministry of Education is asking persons over the age of to volunteer their services at the sites allocated.

He said he himself will be a volunteer at the site.

Dr Moonilal had raised concerns that out of the 14 sites allocated for the administering of the Pfizer vaccine to children, there was none for that particular area with the nearest site being the MIC campus in Pleasantville, San Fernando.

In his letter Dr Moonilal stated, “It is distressing that while you speak of a fast track vaccination process, your Government has sidestepped such heavily populated communities as Penal, Debe, Barrackpore, Fyzabad, Siparia among others. But in light of your request for volunteers to operate additional vaccination sites, I hereby offer to source qualified personnel for a venue within the Oropouche East electoral constituency.”

Dr Moonilal asked the minister to indicate what sort of help would actually be required and he said the sporting facility located opposite the Debe Health Centre at the Debe Junction would be “ideal location for such a programme.”

And he wrote, “I commit my personal time for one week, as a volunteer in order to properly organise and execute a student vaccination programme within the Oropouche East district.”
