TOBAGO will commence its first mass vaccination drive through for Covid-19 this Saturday at the Shaw Park Complex (Car Park) in Scarborough.

This according to a release from the Tobago Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development (DHFWD) on Wednesday.

The seven-day exercise makes it easy for members of the public to stay inside their vehicles and get vaccine shot with minimal waiting time. No appointments are necessary.

DHFWD stated that, “The public and private sector partnership will set up shop at the Shaw Park Complex from Saturday 31st July to Friday 6th August, 2021, 8am to 4pm each day.”

In addition, it stated that a drive through vaccination drive will be held in East Tobago whereby details will be shared subsequently.

The drive through programme consisted of a private and public partnership with the National Gas Company (NGC), Tobago Channel5, Pulse 89.5fm, Tobago Emergency Management Agency (THEMA), Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development (DHFWD) and Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA).

Secretary of Health, Wellness, and Family Development, Assemblyman Tracy Davidson-Celestine said, “This is big news for the vaccination drive in Tobago. We have the supply of vaccines, a competent method of delivery, and easy, accessible points. The private and public sector came through for this.”

She stated, “We want to urge everyone to come through and get your shot. I am anxious as the next person to open up the economy. I want to lime and travel with too; I want to socialize and see my loved ones.

“The public wants the same and, people with businesses want to earn. People want to go back to work. Let’s protect ourselves and our loved ones.”

Davidson-Celestine said, “Get vaccinated so we can live like we used to.”
