All Primary Schools Closed Tuesday…

ALL primary schools in Trinidad and Tobago are to be closed on Tuesday (June 28, 2022).

Secondary school students writing the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) will do so at their schools.

But schools which do not have CAPE are to be closed and students not writing this exam are also asked to remain at home.

This is according to a release late Monday night by the Ministry of Education in response to the Tropical Storm Warning in effect for Trinidad and Tobago.

It stated that secondary school students who do not have CAPE are to remain at home.

The release stated that principals are to inform teaching and non-teaching staff essential required for the CAPE to be in school.

The ministry stated that students who are not able to attend school due to weather-related circumstances to write the CAPE examination must inform their principals immediately.

It stated, “Please not that make-up examinations are not administered by CXC, so all efforts to attend the examinations as scheduled should be made.”

T&T is under a Tropical Storm Warning Orange Alert.

The centre point of Potential cyclone Two was located about 950 km east of Trinidad at 11 pm on Monday.

The system is moving west near 17 mph or 28 kmph and the warning is in effect from 8 pm on Tuesday to 5 pm on Wednesday during which time the system is expected to passs over T&T.
