THREE men were arrested, a firearm and a quantity of narcotics seized and jewellery recovered following a manhunt for four suspects into the fatal shooting incident on Saturday along High Street, San Fernando.
Police reported on Tuesday that acting on information into the report of the robbery, Southern Division police officers conducted several exercises and searches which resulted in the arrest of three men ages 23, 28 and 31, all of Kings Wharf, San Fernando.
During the operation, police officers allegedly seized a firearm and 5.56 kilogrammes of marijuana, 304 grammes of cocaine and an assortment of jewellery. The suspects are now in custody and are being interrogated by Homicide Bureau of Investigations detectives.
Last Saturday, four armed men staged a daring robbery at Ketan’s jewellery store at around 11 am where security guard, Andy Alberto Mercias, 33, was killed.
The vehicle used in the robbery was recovered a short while after by police in La Romaine.
Enquiries are ongoing.
