MICKELA PANDAY, leader of the Patriotic Front (PF), has pledged a campaign free from mudslinging and divisive politics.
Speaking at an event commemorating her father and former prime minister, the late Basdeo Panday’s 91st birthday, Panday said PF was committed to non-discrimination and equality. She opened nominations for people interested in contesting the next general elections for the PF. She said nominations were opened for all 41 seats.
During the event at the party’s South Regional Office in the Twin Walls compound, Panday said, “We are not here to mudsling or send messages of hate, fear, bitterness, or to divide you.”
She said, “We are here to provide hope for all our citizens in a very dark time in our nation’s history. Today, we have answered your call to challenge the status quo and to change the current social and political landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.”
Panday promised a fresh approach to the nation’s political scene. She described the current political climate as tired and fractured, calling for a new era of leadership grounded in humanistic principles.
She said, “For too long, we have suffered under parties that peddle division, that cling to power while our people struggle.”
