No Bail: 2 Charged for Stealing Galil

THE two men charged in connection with the missing Galil assault rifle from theĀ TeteronĀ Barracks in Chaguaramas have been denied bail.

Private Renaldo Wanza, 22, and Brandon Moonsammy, 30, both appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Monday. The matter was adjourned to June 14 when the men are expected to appear before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated.

Wanza was charged with two counts of misbehaviour in public office, one count to wit the Larceny of the Galil Assault Rifle and the other count to wit the subsequent Transfer of same, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Ammunition.

Moonsammy of Macoya Settlement, Tunapuna, was jointly charged with Wanza for misbehavior in public office to wit transferring a firearm and receiving the Galil Assault Rifle knowing same to be stolen. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085644142766

Both men were charged on June 11 for the missing rifle and one magazine.
