University Hospital in Jamaica on Lockdown for Suspected Case of Coronavirus

JAMAICA – THE Accident and Emergency Department of the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) is on lockdown after a patient allegedly shows signs of the Noel Coronavirus.

Reports out of Jamaica stated that he person was recently in China.

The Coronavirus started in the Wuhan province of China.

Jamaica Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton said the country was on high alert for the coronavirus.

Tufton said measures were in place to detect and combat the virus, which has already affected hundreds of people in China and other countries.

He told the Jamaica Information Service, “We have issued a number of releases. We have consulted with our medical team, border protection and our border medical staff is on alert,” he said.
