UDeCOTT Investigating Red House Leak

THE Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) is investigating a leaking in the Senate Chamber of the Red House on Tuesday.

In a release, UDeCOTT stated that it observed a “minor leak” from the ceiling of the chamber when Minister of Social Development and Family Services was speaking.

The sitting was temporarily suspended and resumed shortly thereafter, the release noted.

The release stated, “UDeCOTT investigating the source of the leak and will take the necessary corrective action once the cause of the leak is determined.

“UDeCOTT is working with the Office of the Parliament to address issues that will arise from time to time, which will form part of its comprehensive maintenance plan.

“There is a Maintenance Crew based at the Red House, who are able to expeditiously address any issues if they arise. As is the case with any building newly constructed or restored, there will always be issues to be addressed.

“Members of the UDeCOTT Engineering Team and Maintenance Crew are on the site with the aim to fix the leak in short order.”
