PRIME MINISTER Dr Keith Rowley will deliver the feature address on Wednesday when the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited sign the Manatee Production Sharing Contract.
This according to a release from the Ministry of Energy on Tuesday.
Manatee is a shallow-water field that straddles the maritime boundary of T&T and Venezuela.
The Manatee field is located in Block 6d, and is operated by Shell T&T, in the South-West Marine Area of Trinidad and Tobago, with a surface area of 48.35 square kilometres with reserves of 2.712 trillion cubic feet of gas.
The release stated, “The Governments of T&T agreed to the termination of the Loran-Manatee Unitization Agreement in 2019 and its replacement by a new Agreement which allowed the separate and independent exploitation and development of the Loran and Manatee fields.
“This Sub Block 6D Manatee Production Sharing Contract is an amendment to terms and conditions relating to the Manatee Field which is currently located within the Contract Area under the PSC for Block 6 (Sub-block B and D) dated 12th November, 1974. The remaining Contract Area under the 1974 Block 6 PSC as amended continues to operate under the existing terms and conditions.”
