PUPILS who missed exams due to Covid-19 will still have a chance to sit them.

This according to Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly speaking at the post-Cabinet news conference on Thursday.

She said students who missed the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA), Caribbean Secondary Education (CSEC), and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) examinations due to Covid-19 will be allowed to take the exam at the next opportunity available to them.

Dr Gadbsy-Dolly said “For SEA the re-sit or the second examination on July 21 and there’s an opportunity for students who missed the first one based on their situations to take that.

“For CXC which would be CAPE or CSEC, they would have to sit at the next sitting of CAPE or CSEC, which would be January 2022 or June 2022 depending on the subject.”

She said there were 60 students incapable of sitting either the CSEC or CAPE examination due to issues of quarantine or testing positive for the coronavirus as well as less than 50 SEA students out of 232 absentees.
