‘Robocop’ Son Gunned Down

THE son of murdered notorious gang leader Selwyn “ Robocop” Alexis was killed on Wednesday.

Colin Alexis aka “ Kudos,” of Enterprise Street Chaguanas  was shot  and police suspect the motive was gang-related.

Alexis, 37, a labourer also lived at Tammy Street, Gasparillo.

Police reported that around 8.35pm on Wednesday, officers were on mobile patrol when they received a report from the Command Centre of a person shot at Jack Terrace, Lendore Village, Chaguanas.

Upon arrival, they observed a grey Toyota Aqua crashed into a gate with a male of African descent clad in a blue polo jersey and blue ¾ pants, black belt and grey boxers with a grey mask under chin, who was later identified as Alexis.

His body was found in a crouched position, head facing in a southerly direction, leaning out the front passenger door of the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds to the body.

Four 9mm spent casing and 41 spent casing 5.56 calibre were retrieved.

A  post mortem  is expected to be conducted at the Forensic Science Centre on Friday, pending a Covid test, police said.

The vehicle was wrecked and taken to the Special Evidence Recovery Unit, Cumuto for further processing.

Further enquires revealed that Alexis left the home of his girlfriend in Chaguanas at 8.30pm to go to his Gasparillo home when she heard several loud explosions and upon checking found him crashed into a gate with several gunshot wounds to the body.

In 2016, “Robocop” was fatally shot at his business place in Enterprise, Chaguanas.

Several persons associated with him were also killed including Kevin Escagy and Thomas Sharpe.

And in 2017, his brother Meryn Alexis was murdered at his Enterprise home.
