ELDERLY relatives of Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Faris Al-Rawi have been robbed.
Reports are that Al-Rawi’s in-laws who are 87 and 80 years old were robbed at their Westmoorings home on Wednesday.
Police said around 10 am, the couple went to Republic Bank, Ellerslie Plaza, Maraval and conducted a transaction.
Upon returning home minutes before noon, a bandit held up a gun to the man and demanded his valuables.
The man was robbed of $2,000 cash, along with his Republic Bank credit card, identification card, driver’s permit and other items.
His wife was robbed of a leather handbag containing an iPhone 14, a wallet with $200, her Republic Bank credit card and identification card.
The suspect escaped.
