Police Destroy 150K in Marijuana

MARIJUANA trees valued at $150,000 were destroyed by officers of the South Western Division Task Force (SWDF) during an anti-crime exercise conducted on Monday.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Brandon John, ASP Ramdeen, Insp Simon and supervised by Sgt Crawford.

Police reported that based on information received, officers proceeded to a makeshift camp at Fields Road, Point Fortin, where it was searched and 100 fully grown marijuana trees and seedlings were discovered.

The plants and seedlings were uprooted and destroyed.

Enquiries are continuing.
