PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley will host a press conference today (Saturday).
It will be the first one he is having in a week after announcing a State of Emergency and a curfew from 9pm to 5am to help curb the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Active Covid-19 cases as of yesterday (Friday) were more than 7,400 with the death toll in Trinidad and Tobago from Covid-19 at 341.
The Ministry of Health will therefore not have its Saturday morning virtual presser and the Minster of Health Terrence Deyalsingh and other health officials are expected at the PM’s press conference at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s.
Before the announcement of the SOE, Dr Rowley had announced lockdown measures till May 23. But subsequent Public Health Regulations have placed restrictions until July 4.
