Mc Donald Jacob said that the opening of the station was in keeping with “the demand for improved operational excellence and service to the community” a Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) release on Saturday stated.

He also said that the St Clair station has a suite of services from the Special Victims Department (SVD), which includes the Gender-Based Violence Unit (GBVU), the Sexual Offences Unit and the Child Protection Unit (CPU) alongside the core services of a police station.

The new facility also contains a juvenile booking centre with juvenile holding suites, an Identification Parade Room and an interview room.

Jacob also said that the station was specifically re-modified to cater to the needs of the police officers and their clients with amenities conducive to a safe and comfortable environment for interventions, interviews and investigations.

He urged the officers to take care of the new facility.

“Take care of your facility, but more importantly, take care of yourself, each other, and this great community,” Jacob said.

Hinds added that the station was strategically located and intended to support the network of stations in the Port-of-Spain Division. He stated the district of St Clair was varied, and the station’s purpose was to make the police officers more accessible to the public.
