Energy Matters: Malaysia’s Petronas Visits T&T

REPRESENTATIVES of Malaysia state owned Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) completes a two-day knowledge sharing energy sector visit to Trinidad and Tobago.

This was stated in a release from the Ministry of Energy on Tuesday.

It stated, “On the first day of the delegation’s visit, Ministry of Energy and Energy officials gave an overview  of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector with a focus on bid rounds, available  blocks, the potential of deep water, renewable energy, and LNG production.”

It added, “In an effort to build  international relationships and business opportunities, representatives of our major national energy  sector companies also took the opportunity to meet with the high level PETRONAS delegation at  the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.”

The delegation included Chairman of NGC Dr Joseph Khan; President of NGC Mark Loquan: Chariman of Heritage Petroleum Michael Quamina SC, CEO of Heritage Petroleum Erik Keskula; and President of the National Energy Dr Vernon Platoo.

The PETRONAS representatives also had a presentation by Loquan at the NGC’s office in Point Lisas.

The release stated that the two-day visit by PETRONAS, Malaysia to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is an outcome of the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries’ travels to Vancouver, Canada in July 2023 where  he met with Adnan Zainol Abidin.

The PETRONAS representatives were also scheduled to visit Atlantic LNG in Point Fortin, the release stated.
