MAJOR voltage issues in the Caroni area have caused the Caroni Licensing Office to be closed today (Monday, July 24, 2023).

The Ministry of Works and Transport in a media release on Monday morning advised that the office would be closed from 9.30 am “due to major voltage issues within the area.”

Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday.

The ministry stated persons affected by the closure were not required to reschedule their appointment and will be accommodated during the period July 25 to July 31.

To complete a transaction, an individual must provide proof of their previously scheduled appointment for the Caroni Licensing Office, the release stated.

Additionally, persons are reminded that a proof of address – a utility bill no older than three months is required to complete a licensing transaction.

If a customer does not have a utility bill in their name, he or she is required to produce a letter of authorisation from the owner and a copy of their national identification.

The Ministry of Works and Transport apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their continued cooperation.
