Imran Khan Former Head of WICB Commuincations Dies from Covid-19

HEAD of Communications for Guyana Opposition party Imran Khan has died as a result of Covid-19.

Khan was also the former Director of the Department of Public Information and lived in Antigua for several years serving as communications officer for the West Indies Cricket Board.

Khan passed away on Tuesday morning at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Covid-19 Hospital at Lilliendaal in Guyanan. He was a patient for the past week, according to relatives.

In his last social media post  on Sunday, Khan wrote, “Thank you for all your love, prayers, messages of encouragement and support. I am overwhelmed beyond explanation and I am in excellent spirits. Please be assured that I am fighting and there is no giving up. One Love.”

Khan was unvaccinated, was rushed to the hospital after testing positive for the virus on September 15.

Khan’s wife, attorney Tamara Khan, was also a patient at the hospital’s ICU.
