WITH the exception of the Rochard Douglas Health Centre in Barrackpore, all non-essential health services are expected to resume full operations.

The Ministry of Health in a press release on Wednesday stated that already some regional health authorities have reopened for the tropical storm warning that was instituted for Trinidad and Tobago.

At the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) all health centres, hospital clinics and mass vaccination sites have resumed operations, except the Rochard Douglas Health Centre, which will resume operations once the flooding on access roads has subsided, the ministry stated.

The public is reminded to avoid contact with flood waters to reduce the risk of contracting water-borne diseases such as gastroenteritis and leptospirosis.

The ministry also advised the population to visit its website and social media pages for more information on health precautions to be taken after rainfall or flooding.
