Health Ministry Errs in Sunday Figure for People Tested for Covid-19

THE Ministry of Health admits to an error in the figure posted in its update on Sunday for the total number of people tested for Covid-19.

A release on Monday stated, “The Ministry of Health has reviewed the Covid-19 Update of Sunday May 9, 2021 and advises that a data error was made in the figure reported for the Total Persons Tested at both Public and Private Facilities.

“Yesterday’s (Sunday’s) update will be adjusted accordingly. Today’s (Monday’s) figure for Total Persons Tested at both Public and Private Facilities is 141,550 and the figure is accurate.”

The ministry reported 145,268 people in total were tested at both public and private facilities on Sunday.

But a day later it reported total tests at a lower figure at 141,550.

The total figure for all tests done in the country on Saturday was 140,718.

On Saturday too it had revised its release minutes after issuing a first one to increase the number of active Covid-19 cases by ten to 3,793.
