Upon entering the house, the man heard his uncle Ishaba Dennie say, “gunmen in de yard.”

He went and told his father Winston Dennie, about the gunmen.  By that time, two armed men had entered the house.

The first assailant with a red rag over his head, a black mask covering his face and armed with a handgun, the second assailant’s face was uncovered.

The first assailant ordered them to get down on the floor, Winston Dennie refused and got into a scuffle with the assailant in an attempt to disarm him. The assailant then fired several shots at Winston hitting him about his body and wounding Ishaba Dennie.  Winston Dennie ran out of the house and collapsed in the yard.  The assailants ran off through a nearby track and escaped.  Both men were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where Winston Dennie was pronounced dead on arrival at 9.35pm.
