AZPNews.com will be in attendance to bring the latest from the press conference.

It was not certain what the press conference will be about.

Griffith’s three-year contract as police commissioner ended on August 17 and the Police Service Commission (PolSC) allowed him to continue to act in the position.

The PolSC subsequently served him with a letter on September 17 sending him on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by retired Justice of Appeal Stanley John into the Firearms Division of the TTPS.

Griffith has since filed an application for an injunction seeking to revoke the letter of September 17. That matter is scheduled for hearing in the High Court on Monday along with an interpretation summons by activist Ravi Balgobin seeking to have the acting appointment of Griffith declared null and void.

The selection process for CoP is also on hold pending the outcome of judicial review proceedings by former head of the Police Social and Welfare Division Senior Superintendent Anand Ramesar. He is challenging the PolSC’s decision not to approve him for the interview portion in the selection for top cop.
