THE Emperor Valley Zoo is closed for one week from Sunday (March 15).
A Facebook post stated the Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ZSTT) has decided to close the zoo which will go into maintenance mode for one week.
The release stated, “During this time the Zoo would be closed to visits by the public. This is in keeping with the statement of the Prime Minister concerning limited activity in public places.
“During the seven-day period, Zoo employees would operate on a revised shift system to ensure that animals are fed and looked after, and the facilities are secured and sanitized.
“Maintenance workers would use the opportunity to work in areas usually traversed by the public during opening hours and would work on ongoing infrastructure projects.
“While the ZSTT monitors the situation with Covid-19 further announcements may be made.”
