MEMBERS of the public who wish to give condolences on the passing of former prime minister Basdeo Panday will have an opportunity to do so this week.
Parliament has advised that the condolence book for Panday will be opened to the public in the Rotunda Gallery in Port of Spain on Thursday from 1 pm to 6 pm.
The book will also be open on Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and next week Monday from 8 am to 6 pm.
President Christine Kangaloo was first to sign the condolence book in keeping with State protocol on Wednesday.
Members of Panday’s family including his brother Subhas Panday and daughter Nicola Panday attended the signing.
Also, Panday’s alma mater Presentation College, San Fernando, will be celebrating his life on Thursday during a remembrance ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at 6 pm at the college’s auditorium at Carib Street, San Fernando.
Panday was the school’s past student of the year in 1985.
