Cocaine Washes Ashore Near Tobago Oil-Spill Vessel

THE package that washed ashore near the sunken vessel responsible for the Tobago oil spill on Sunday contained more than $500,000 worth of cocaine.

This was revealed in a release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

It stated that the cocaine was valued at over half a million dollars has been found washed ashore at Cove Estate, Tobago. It weighed about 1.109 kilogrammes.

Reports indicated that around 2.40 pm, on Sunday, a black plastic bag containing a white substance resembling cocaine was found along the shoreline.

Police said it has an estimated street value of TT$515,285.76. Officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force and Special Intelligence Unit are investigating.
