Boy,10, Dies: Gun Found in His Room

A TEN-year-old boy in Arima died as a result of a gunshot wound on Thursday night.

Christian Liverpool, of Bellamy Street, was discovered by his stepmother with a gunshot wound to his head around 8 pm.

Police said his stepmother went to check on the child after hearing an explosion.

He was transferred by emergency services to the Arima Health Facility, where he succumbed to the injury around 8.31 pm.

Liverpool’s body was identified by his mother Annadel Faria, 30, of Quarry Road, San Juan at the hospital.

Police said officers recovered a loaded gun, one spent nine mm shell casing, one black coloured smith and Wesson nine-mm pistol with a magazine and eight rounds of nine-mm ammunition serial number filed off at the house.

Inspector Pitt and officers of the Arima CID visited the scene.
