BEACHES in Trinidad and Tobago will be open from 5 am to 6 pm come Monday.
This was announced by the Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at the virtual presser on Wednesday on behalf of Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.
Reef and Swamp Tours, as well as other activities, would also be included but with 50% capacity.
Beaches and rivers were opened from 5 am to 2 pm in an effort to help curb the spread of Covid-19.
The additional four hours, Deyalsingh said, was allowed following a meeting with Prime Minister Dr Rowley and the Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Farley Augustine.
The health minister said the regulations would be amended to give effect to these changes and the new measures will take effect from January 31.
Deyalsingh also urged persons to desist from partying and the consumption of alcohol during and after the beach hours.
