ALL national performance spaces listed under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts will be closed indefinitely.
The closure came into effect at midnight on Wednesday, the ministry stated in a press release.
The venues to be closed are Queen’s Hall and the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port-of-Spain and Naparima Bowl and the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA) in San Fernando.
The ministry stated, “Managers of the national performance spaces will communicate with event promoters and producers about the cancellation and or postponement of bookings. The Ministry looks forward to welcoming the public back to these performance spaces when they are re-opened.”
