NINE people are killed in attacks in two shisha bars in the city of Hanau in western Germany, news media outlets are reporting.
Chancellor Angela Merkel said there were many signs the attacker, suspected to be a far right extremist, acted out of racism.
Federal prosecutors are treating the case as terrorism, the BBC stated. Turkey says at least five of the dead were Turkish citizens.
Police said the 43-year-old suspect killed himself. He was found dead at his home along with the body of his mother.
