6 Men Arrested for Marijuana, Ammo

SIX men have been arrested for firearm and drug-related offences in the North Eastern Division (NED) on Wednesday.

A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Thursday stated that there was an Operation Strike Back Exercise conducted by the NED Gang Intelligence Unit in the San Juan and Morvant areas on Wednesday, between 10 pm and 2.30 am on Thursday.

This search initiated several search warrants which later led to the arrest of four men, ages 26 to 46 from the San Juan and Malick districts for the possession of firearms and ammunition.

In addition, a 39-year-old man of 10th Street Malick, was  detained on shooting enquiries while another, 36-year-old was arrested for cultivating marijuana

The exercise was spearheaded by acting Snr Supt Winston Maharaj, acting Supt. Ramjohn with ASP Pariman and coordinated by Insp Bharath.

It was supervised by acting Sgt Mitchell and acting Cpls Gordon and Dhill, and included members of the NED Gang Intelligence Unit, NED Task Force with officers of the Canine Unit.
