5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Trinidad

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake rocked parts of Trinidad on Wednesday evening.

It occurred around 5.35 pm.

In an update on Wednesday, The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre stated that the epicentre with a depth of 10 km, a latitude of 10.45N and a longitude of 61.98W.

The earthquake was also felt 61 km NW of San Fernando and 80 km WSW of Arima, and 57 km SW of Port of Spain.

Meanwhile, many people took to social media to share their experiences from areas such as Diego Martin,  Carenage, Arouca, Petit Valley, St James, Port of Spain, Maraval, Belmont, Couva, San Juan,  Santa Cruz, Glencoe,  and Central.

This was the third earthquake which occurred this week, the first was a 4.4 Magnitude on Monday near San Fernando followed by a 4.2 Magnitude on Tuesday which was felt in Port of Spain and Venezuela.
