2 Men Held in POS for Marijuana, Ammo

POLICE charge two men in Port-of-Spain for marijuana  and ammunition on Friday.

A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that they were held during an anti-crime exercised conducted in the Besson Street district on Friday.

The release stated that a search warrant for illegal firearms and ammunition was executed at the home of Nicholas Forde, 32, of Piquette#1, Laventille, where six rounds of nine milimetre ammunition were allegedly found under a bed.

Police said David Laborde, 18, of Blanc Street, San Juan, the driver of a blue Balino wagon, who was present at the time, was searched and a quantity of cannabis amounting to 400 grammes was found and seized.

Both men were to the Besson Street Police Station where they were charged for the offences by PC Garner.

The exercise continued and the officers proceeded to the Canada Plannings and Beverly Hills, Laventille, where several vacant apartments were searched, during which WPC Skeete found and seized a quantity of cannabis amounting to 300 grammes.

WPC Skeete is continuing enquiries. The exercises were coordinated by Snr Supt Oswain Subero and ASP Joachim, and under the supervision of Cpl Phillips.
