10 Charged for Breaking Curfew on Monday

POLICE charge ten people for breaching curfew on Monday.

A release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Tuesday stated that they were held in two exercises.

The first exercise was conducted between 10am and 12:30 pm in Carenage, resulted in seven persons, ages 20 to 48, being arrested for breach of curfew.

This exercise was spearheaded by acting Insp Ramjattan and included officers of the Carenage Police Station and Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The curfew on Monday, a public holiday for Indian Arrival Day, was from 10am to 5am on Tuesday. The same curfew applies for the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday while the rest of the days people are restricted from going outdoors from 9pm to 5am. The curfew is part of a State of Emergency in place to curbĀ  the spread of the Covid-19.

In another exercise, conducted between 10am and 1pm yesterday, officers arrested three persons, ages 39 to 58, also for breach of curfew.

The exercise was coordinated by acting Insp Basant and included officers of the Western Division CID and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
