South Korean Film Creates History at Oscars

HISTORY was created at the Oscars on Sunday evening when Parasite, a non-English language film, wins Best Picture.

The South Korean film directed by Bong Joon-ho managed to steal four awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay.

However, no surprises came from the rest of the major awards as Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor for the film Joker and Renee Zellweger Best Actress for playing Judy Garland in the movie Judy. Best Supporting Actor and Actress went to Brad Pitt for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Laura Dern for Marriage Story.

Other winners of the night included Best Animated Feature Film Toy Story 4, Best Sound Editing Ford v Ferrari, Best Documentary Short Feature Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You’re a Girl), Best Animated Short Film Hair Love, Best Adapted Screenplay Taika Waititi for Jojo Rabbit, Best Cinematography to Roger Deakins for 1917, Best Original Song to Elton John and Bernie Taupin for (I’m Gonna) Love Me Again and Best Original Music Score to Joker.
