A domestic dispute in Mayaro has led to the arrest of 35-year-old Romario Parris who is due in court on Tuesday.
On Friday, officers of the Mayaro Police Station responded to reports of a disturbance in the area.
When they arrived at the scene, they saw a house on fire.
The victim reported the incident and while at the scene, offciers saw a man exiting the house.
The suspect, of St Ann’s Road, was detained and taken into police custody, pending further investigations.
On Monday, he was charged with arson, assault by beating, threats and throwing missiles following an enquiry.
The suspect will appear before a Mayaro Magistrate.
