La Horquetta Man Charged with Nephew’s Murder

A La Horquetta man has been charged with the murder of his nephew.

Joseph Als, 53, a mechanic, of Phase 5, La Horquetta, will appear before an Arima magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of his nephew Marvin Hosten on last Monday.

Hosten was charged after advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Friday.

Hosten, 26, also of Phase 5, La Horquetta, was at his home on May 11, when he was stabbed several times about the body by a male relative. He died at the scene.

Als was arrested by officers of the Special Operations Response Team on that same date and handed over the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 2 investigators.
