132 New Covid-19 Cases Reported

THE Ministry of Health has reported 132 new Covid-19 cases.

In its Wednesday morning update, the ministry reported that the positive cases were from samples taken from August 18 to 25. One of the samples were tested in a private lab.

There were now, 1,177 active cases in Trinidad and Tobago.

The ministry stated that 20,756 samples were submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency and the University of the West Indies testing site.

There were 17,834 people tested with 2,922 having repeated ones.

The release stated that 1,384 samples have tested positive at public and private institutions in TT.

Deaths remain at 15 with 192 now discharged. Fourteen people have been discharged in the last 24 hours – eight from the University of the West Indies Campus in Debe, three from Canada Hall, two from Balandra and one from Tarcarigua.

The release stated that there were now 171 patients in hospital, 432 en route or being admitted while 200 were being processed for admission.

It stated that 108 patients were at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility with five in the intensive care unit and nine in the high dependency unit.

There were 63 Covid-19 patients at the Caura Hospital.
