WASA Repairing Cocorite Pipeline

THE Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has been working overnight to extract a ruptured pipeline in Cocorite.

In a media release on Monday morning, WASA stated that the replacement was currently being secured in place.

Residents in St James and Cocorite experienced a disruption in their water supply due to a rupture of a 21-inch main on Monday. The main is located along the Western Main Road, Cocorite, in the vicinity of Peake Gas Station.

All works inclusive of road restoration was expected to be completed by 12 noon on Tuesday, WASA stated.

WASA stated, “Customers are advised that it may take up to 12 hours for the pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas, following the completion of these repair works. Motorists are asked to proceed with caution when approaching the jobsite, and to obey the instructions of Traffic Control Officers on duty.”

The Authority said that it will provide further details in a subsequent release and thanked the public for their co-operation and understanding, during the period of disruption.
