CHILDREN living in Valsayn South that was flooded on Monday night received a virtual Halloween treat from one of their neighbours.

For four days, residents have been marooned in their homes with the water residing from just about 7 am on Tuesday morning.

Dr Rajendra Singh who lives at the corner of Springlands Avenue and Spring Drive, Real Spring, told AZP News that his neighbour contacted him with a request earlier Monday afternoon.

He said, “My neighbour has a seven-year-old daughter (Raine) and she was looking very much excited to going trick ‘o’ treat this year but because of the floods nobody could really be out on the streets. So my neighbour asked me if my wife and I could dress up and wave to her from across the street because I live obliquely opposite them.”

Dr Singh said around 8 am, he came out under a tress dressed in Halloween garb and waved to Raine who was very excited to wave back. She was dressed up as vampire. He remembered he had a projector and also began playing spooky videos from his window.

After that, he got the idea to send out a virtual Halloween to the other children whose parents are on a neighbourhood chat.

Between 9 pm to 10 pm, he went back outside and played a video from his window using the projector and sent it out on the chat.

His treat was well received.

Dr Singh told AZP News that on Tuesday, now that the water has resided, residents would have been in clean-up mode trying to get back to normalcy.

Some were able to venture out back to work and school on Tuesday morning, still driving through water but at a lower level.

And residents of Mangra Street in Aranguez had their Halloween celebrations on Saturday with people from nearby streets also participating in the festivities. See photos below:
