Police Administration Building in Port-of-Spain
Vacancy: Police Commissioner of T&T
By Sue-Ann Wayow
THE post of Commissioner of Police is once again being advertised.
Interested persons are asked to submit their applications online only on or before 4 pm on June 30, 2022.
The job opportunity was posted by the Police Service Commission (PolSc) on social media on Tuesday.
For persons to be qualified for the position, applicants must have training as evidenced by the possession of a Master’s Degree from a university recognised by the Ministry of National Security in either law, criminal justice, criminology, police service management or any other relevant degree.
They must also have at least 15 years’ experience of increasing responsibility in law enforcement.
In August, 2021, the three-year contract of former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith came to an end and the position was once again opened to suitable candidates.
Griffith reapplied for the position but due to processes later deemed unlawful, the previous process was scrapped, the former PolSC dismantled and questions were asked of the highest authorities in the land, President Paula-Mae Weeks and Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for alleged involvement.
On April 30, Griffith officially launched his political party the National Transformation Alliance (NTA) and has since become vocal on national issues.
