THE Opposition United National Congress UNC will wait to see all the fine details of the legislation being proposed to make Parliament a designated safe zone.

Responding to Attorney General’s Faris Al-Rawi’s statements on Wednesday, UNC, public relations officer Dr Kirk Meighoo stated that the UNC has made its position absolutely clear that they were against any mandatory vaccination and vaccine discrimination.

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has stated, people should not be forced to choose between feeding their family and taking a vaccine.

Dr Meighoo told AZPNews.com, “As regards the purported ‘Safe Zone’ proposal for Parliament, we will need to see the proposed legislation before we can comment. One of the aspects we will look for is whether this means that unvaccinated citizens will be denied services by the State.”

He said Government has failed in its vaccine education programme and was now forcing its will unto citizens which was tyrannical.

“The vaccinated and the unvaccinated are equal in rights and dignity before the law, under the Constitution, and in God’s eyes,” Dr Meighoo said.
