A NATIONAL athlete has been allegedly held with the possession of a firearm, ammunition and marijuana.
Reports are that the athlete was arrested on Saturday during a police exercise in Debe.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday to answer to the charges.
During the exercise, officers allegedly found and seized a 9mm pistol, four live rounds of ammunition and 62.5 grammes of marijuana upon searching the athlete’s vehicle.
The legal limit for possession of marijuana is 30 grammes.
