TT Cyclists Win Gold Medal in Lima

LIMA – TRINIDAD and Tobago cycling trio wins the nation’s first gold medal at the Pan Amer­i­can Games in Li­ma, Pe­ru on Thurs­day night.

Nicholas Paul, Njisane Phillip and Keron Bram­ble clocked 43.792 sec­onds to win the Team Men’s Sprint event.

They beat Co­lum­bia (44.584) to earn the gold medal. Brazil had beaten Mexico to third earlier.

Bram­ble clocked 17.938 in lap one (250m), Phillip pro­duced 12.655 for the sec­ond lap and Paul, 13.379 in the third.

This is team TTO’s second medal so far with boxer Michael Alexan­der taking bronze in the men’s light wel­ter­weight class on Tues­day night.

Paul and Phillip displayed the na­tion­al flag with Bram­ble in their vic­to­ry lap.
