And South Park’s consultant Rory Moses told AZPNews.com that there will be enough security to ensure that there is crowd control.

Moses said, “We understand that the pandemic has affected a lot of households and we would like to do our part to help as part of our corporate social responsibility. We are asking persons to please be considerate and only if you have a job loss or very low income at this time to accept these hampers. It is not a free for all.”

He explained the system for giving out the hampers.

Only one hamper will be given per household.  Each person is asked to walk with their identification card. Individuals will have to register upon arrival at the mall and will be given a chit. The chit will be given to the persons giving out the hampers and upon collection, recipients can leave.

Moses said, “The mall is a large, open air facility. Places will be earmarked and all health protocols will be strictly observed. There is enough spacing to accommodate persons in order to maintain social distancing. We have our security and police officers also indicated that they will be on site to assist.”

South Park management purchased items for the 300 hampers that will be given out on Friday and additional items were provided by various tenants of the mall. South Park staff members will be directly involved in the distribution process, Moses added.

Distribution begins at 10am and will continue to 2pm. Another distribution is planned for next week Tuesday.
