NEWLY-appointed Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport Richie Sookhai hopes there will be less flooding in the upcoming rainy season as he seeks to help his ministry alleviate such problems.

He said so on Saturday one day after being sworn in by President Christine Kangaloo.

Sookhai said he will find out on Monday what his tasks will be when he speaks with Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan.

He was appointed a senator in January to replace Kangaloo who resigned as Senate President to be elected T&T’s seventh President.
